MereNoTilde These three albums are my top 3 French House records of all time (Wuz and Cassius 1999 make up my top 5). Really cool to have them all in a sweet bundle.

Jakku I am infinitely happy that this was reissued. Motorbass pansoul is easily the best french house album of ALL TIME. I bought the first pressing from discogs a while back but i'm so glad I'm able to grab this version with the extra tracks. Super discount is a RIDICULOUS showcase of etienne's talent. and la funk mob is the perfect predecessor to cassius. These are the 3 pioneers to the whole french house genre.

    // Motorbass — Pansoul
    Motorbass was a French house duo originating from Paris and consisting of Phillippe Zdar (later of Cassius) and Étienne de Crécy. Between them, they formed Motorbass to deliver a single album, decisive for French electronic music: Pansoul. The name of this self-produced record reflects its ambition: an exhaustive exploration of soulful electro, fed with hip-hop samples and throbbing bass. When it was released in 1996, only 20,000 copies of Pansoul were pressed. The following year, it was impossible to find. In 2003, Virgin finally reissued it.

    The milestone of French electronic music by French legends Philippe Zdar & Etienne de Crécy
    Remastered version, Originally released in 1996
    2 x 12’’ in a Gatefold sleeve

    // Étienne de Crécy — Super Discount
    Super Discount is the debut album by French DJ and producer Étienne de Crécy. Like Motorbass’s Pansoul, the record became one of the driving forces behind French Touch and a seminal classic of electronic music in France and abroad. Super Discount is a critical and commercial success, an icon of its day.
    >> Mixmag UK: “Every track of this album is simply sublime… Every single one is quite simply essential.”
    >> In 1997, Q ranked the album in their list of "The 25 Best Dance Albums Ever".
    2 x 12’’ in a Gatefold sleeve

    // La Funk Mob ‎— Tribulations Extra Sensorielles
    La Funk Mob was the project of Hubert Blanc-Francard AKA Boom Bass and Philippe Zdar Cerboneschi. Ultimately, La Funk Mob led to Cassius.
    More Hip Hop/Downtempo flavoured, the sound of La Funk Mob, along with The Mighty Bop, Etienne De Crécy and Dimitri From Paris, really helped to establish 'La French Touch'. Impressed by their compositions, James Lavelle went out of his way to sign them on his label. Considered as an essential reference in Great Britain as well as in the United States, these Frenchmen have released two EPs on Mo'Wax.
